Mary Sue Molnar/Chair
Mary Sue Molnar is the founder and executive director of Texas Voices for Reason and Justice and she is also the mother of a registered citizen. She lives in San Antonio but connects with registered members and their families across Texas. Mary Sue has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association for Rational Sexual Offense Laws (NARSOL) and the National Center for Reason and Justice (NCRJ).
Phillip Taylor/Vice-Chair
Phil Taylor is a retired Licensed Professional Counselor. Baylor BA, SMU M. Th., TWU Denton, Masters in Counseling. He is a Navy vet and served during the Vietnam War. Phil is a former Sex Offender Treatment Provider and has been a member of Texas Voices since 2007. He is an empiricist – into the research literature. Committed to eliminating registration, residency restrictions, perpetual stigma, and civil commitment, Phil has testified at multiple House and Senate hearings along with attending legislative meetings in Austin and beyond.
Beverly Watson/Secretary
Beverly Watson began attending legislative hearings in Austin to testify regarding the ineffectiveness of sex offender laws in 2005 after extensive research on the issues. In 2008 she was a member of the small founding group of TVRJ and currently serves as secretary for the board. Beverly is a retired educator and lives in the Dallas area.
Lori Brooks/Treasurer
Lori Brooks has served as treasurer of the Texas Voices board since 2016. She lives in the Austin area with her husband of 25+ years, a registered citizen, and their three dogs. Lori is also a chicken enthusiast who is known to spoil her chickens with fresh fruit and vegetables prepared just for them! When Lori and her husband are not working at their own real estate associated business, they love finding and sampling all the craft beer in the Austin area.
Rick Carden
Rick has been a member of Texas Voices since 2012. He has attended legislative sessions and works to promote common sense reform of the registry based on studies and facts, instead of myth and innuendo. He also assists in hosting the monthly Houston Support Group meetings. He has extended his interests to overall criminal justice reform.
Rick has an extensive history in sales and marketing management and enjoys the challenges and victories that come with it. He has various interests but has a passion for the Houston Astros that keeps at least his summer social agenda busy.
Tim Sankey
Tim Sankey joined the board in 2021 and lives in San Antonio with his wife. He is a strong believer in rationale, common sense, criminal justice reform, specifically, advocating for changes to the registry.
Tim completed his undergraduate studies at Baylor University and has a master’s degree from the University of the Incarnate Word. Currently, he works in the printing profession as a manager at a large printing company in San Antonio. He enjoys helping the board with mailouts, printing, and other projects. Personally, he enjoys the outdoors, traveling, and sports.
Hans Maverick
Hans Maverick became a member of Texas Voices 2013. His involvement has included facilitating meetings of the Austin support group and testifying before the Texas State Legislature. He recently completed an associate degree in paralegal studies at Austin Community College, and he currently works as a legal assistant for a non-profit organization that represents indigent people impacted by the criminal legal system. Hans is also a longtime member of Texas Advocates for Justice, a group that advocates on behalf of formerly-incarcerated citizens.
Hans cares about promoting a rational and compassionate approach to sex offense laws, as well as providing practical and emotional support to people on the registry and their families.
